About
Why I started Mop Masters.
I didn't set out to run a cleaning business.
My wife is a property manager. For years she'd come home from work and vent — good cleans were nearly impossible to find. Every clean was a coin flip. Cheap operators would under-quote, do half a job, and disappear. Bond disputes. PMs re-cleaning bathrooms themselves at 6pm.
I said what any husband thinks but shouldn't say out loud: “It can’t be that hard.” Then I bought a mop, stuck it in my car, and started doing it myself.
Turns out it is hard. But the reason it’s hard isn’t the cleaning — it’s building something reliable enough that a property manager can book you sight-unseen and know the bond will come back. That takes standards, systems, checklists, and a team that actually cares. Most operators skip all of that because it’s expensive and slow. That’s why the market is broken.
Since 2023, Mop Masters has grown into a small core team plus vetted subbies — vacate cleans for agencies like Rentwest and Jamie Loh, regular house cleans, windows and one-off cleans. We don’t compete on being the cheapest. We compete on doing the job properly the first time — and backing it with a bond-back guarantee if we don’t.
If you’ve ever paid a cleaner and re-cleaned after them, you already know why this business exists.
